Early in the month we had the pleasure of styling the lovely ladies involved with Girls With Guitars, present by Sixgill Sound.
GWG is a new series of shows that create more avenues in Vancouver for female singer songwriters to showcase their musical talent and we are so proud to offer them our community support. If you missed this series, not to worry, there will be more. We will keep you posted or follow Sixgill Sound on facebook.
The first series involved Lydia Hol, Lisa Vesterinen & Amber Smith plus a few more local talented lovelies!

Looking lovely! *high five*

Today was a strange one in Vancity; we had rain, shine, more rain and now finally blue skies. It made us think – how can you dress for the season when the season itself is undecided?
Here is some styling bits and bites for you ladies!

Emu (Australia) Thalee Cardigan is an easy go-to layer piece. Made of Merino wool it regulates body temperature and can be worn either long or short ($159). Paired with super comfy pocket dress by Supremebeing of UK ($60), finish it off with Fredrick Prince (Toronto) nautical inspired pendant ($59). Fresh, comfy, corporate and still warm!

The Hideaway cardigan, another Emu (Australia) piece, is also Merino wool and even wicks away moisture in case the sunshine does reoccur. Paired with Covet (Montreal) hi-low hem maxi dress ($89) and WkShp (L.A, $45) pastel tank for a Spring look with layers. Loop Neckwear (Vancouver, $40) scarf is a playful accessory for a more relaxed working environment.
View the rest of the Emu collection here!
See you soon!
Local artist Jon Shaw, currently showcased at Lüt, has been selected as one of the artist for The Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival art show ‘State of the Art’. We are so stoked for him! So if you are in Whistler from now until April 22nd … go check out his stuff! Info here.

Last week we had the pleasure of meeting and styling some volunteer models for The IABC BC Spring Fling.
IABC BC is a not for profit organization that connects communicators to people, programs and services that inspire their career and professional development; one of the ways they develop skills as effective business communicators is by sharing ideas with peers at various events throughout the year, like The Spring Fling.
Here are a few of our favourite pics. And huge shout out to Bryce and Adam for rockin’ the runway!

Adam is wearing – Kai’aakmann short sleeve button down ($134), Zanerobe lightweight Hoodie ($130) and Neuw Raw denim in Jimmy Straight cut ($165) – a sharp look for work or play.

Bryce is wearing – Zanerobe short sleeve button down ($110), Supremebeing waterproof coat ($129) and Good Society Raw denim slim cut ($129) – prefect for any weekend activity.
Glad everyone had a great time!

We make a lot of posts specifically for the ladies, but listen up gents! This post is for you. We’re offering up a few spring trends that are easy to pull off, and may just impress the ladies in your life.
One of our favourite options that offers a clean, sophisticated look while still saying, “I keep it caj” includes a little something we like to call the button down chambray shirt. It’s got a denim look to it and whether you’re rocking some dark wash jeans, chinos or black trousers, it’ll work for you. Layer with a pullover or a light jacket this spring and it’ll carry you from day to night.

The next trend that we’ve had too much fun with is the graphic print. Sometimes subtle, sometimes loud and proud, your personality can come out in the form of a little print. We carry a stunning yet subtle print for the shy guy from Zanerobe, and some attention grabbing rubber duck print pool shorts for the outgoing dude. Different plaid colourways are a classic way to add print to any wardrobe. We are in a 90′s throwback period after all. Dare you to rock a plaid shirt tied around the waist.

Our last trend comes in the form of colour. We’re going two ways this season – bright, saturated colour as well as soft, pale tones are popping up everywhere. This is spring afterall, a time when colour returns! We’ve got some great Ebon Aves tees in pale blues and soft purples as well as some eye-catching reds and royal blues in the form of Supremebeing hoodies.

See you soon!

Spring cleaning is a tradition in so many homes, but it doesn’t always extend to our wardrobes. It should! Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to streamline your wardrobe…

1. First, take out any pieces with holes, questionable stains, or general wear and tear, that need to go.
2. Next, weed out any doubles you have. You know those 3 pairs of skinny jeans hiding in the back of your closet? Pick one favourite, and give the others to people who will wear them as much as they deserve.
3. Now think about the function of each remaining article of clothing, and whether or not it is still relevant. Whatever you don’t wear at least twice per month (aside from formal wear) needs a new home.
4. And now the fun part – time to springify your wardrobe! Your closet is no doubt looking pretty bare, and you’re concerned about having to do laundry multiple times a week. But don’t fret, it’s time to shop. Just remember, quality over quantity. Choose garments that you know you’ll get a lot of wear out of. And check the washing instructions – if you hate dry cleaning, make sure your everyday clothes don’t require it.

Enjoy the sunshine!

We are excited to announce the recent arrival of Snap jewelry – hand-made pendents by Claire Wensveen! Two of her pieces were featured on our blog recently, and we did not properly explain the careful work that goes into her jewelry. So here is how it’s really done…

Claire hand makes all of her jewelry from start to finish. First, the pendant is made from red clay, and glazed with a traditional mijolica style glaze which is then fired in a kiln. She decorates each piece with ceramic decals bought from wholesalers who buy unused decals from mass production factories. These decals are cut up and made into a collage. They are then applied to the glazed surface of the pendants and fired a second time. Finally, for the earrings, Claire hand makes sterling silver ear hooks.

Claire is inspired by traditional teacup patterns, but likes to give her work a modern twist.
And we can’t get enough!
